Acupuncture
Service Description
Dry needling uses acupuncture needles to deactivate nerve and muscular activity in trigger points, found in the muscle belly. It also shuts off the nociception or pain receptors in the muscle and ligaments. Muscles relax and joint pain eases, facilitating normal joint movement. Blood flow returns to the muscles and joints, it flushes away the hormones and chemicals that cause some of the pain. Dry needling acupuncture is used for the treatment of: - Neck pain & back pain - Tension pain - Migraines & headaches - Tight muscular areas - Strain - Unceasing pain syndromes - Sports injuries - Shin splints & tightness - Lower back problems - Hamstring - Nerve pain Treatment involves the insertion of solid dry acupuncture needles usually in or around muscle trigger points. Trigger points are areas in muscles that are painful when moved or pushed. These muscle areas can submit pain and create discomfort elsewhere in the body.
